Clarence B. Tegeder
Clarence B. Tegeder, 86, of Wildwood Drive, passed away Wednesday, June 27,
2001, in St. Mary's Hospice.
He was born Dec. 17, 1914, to William and Hilda Tegeder in Minneapolis. He
attended the University of Minnesota prior to serving in the Army during World
War II. He married Ruth Brennan on May 26, 1943, in Minneapolis.
He joined Prudential as an agent in Minneapolis in 1938. He was named a sales manager in
1947 and was promoted in 1954 to manager of the Fargo district office. He was
transferred to head the Duluth office in 1958. He retired in 1974 after 36 years of
service.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club and was past
president of the Arrowhead Association of the Life Underwriters. Clarence was a
devoted husband and father and enjoyed golfing and shore casting on Lake
Superior .
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mary Lou (Donald) Wenker of
Seattle; a son, Bill of Duluth; grandchildren Sarah and Bryce Wenker of Seattle;
a sister, Mary Catherine Chatelaine of Minneapolis; brothers the Rev. Vincent
Tegeder of Collegeville, Minn. , Roy (Ruth) and William (Mary), both of Sun
City, Ariz. ; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Jeff Nelson and the staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit
and the Hospice Care Unit at St. Mary's Medical Center for their compassionate
care.
Private family services will be held. Entombment in Forest Hill Cemetery. In
